HILO—It's difficult to believe he can do two jobs well, but to add a third? Dr. Josh Green has secured his place as a student in Abe Lee's real estate salesperson online class, watching lectures and studying between patients who are in the hospital for Covid and patients who are in the hospital with Covid.
"I added the second job of Governor so I could relate to 50% of the people I govern," said Green, "knowing that they can't afford to live in Hawaii without working seven days a week and 14 hours per day."
Being relatable to his constituents is important, said Green, considering former Governor Ige was not not known as a relatable public figure. "He doesn't know how to talk to people," added Green, "just himself."
But why real estate sales?
“It's not enough to be an emergency room doctor and the state's first in command," says Green. "I would like to kill some free time selling property to rich people from the mainland.”
